The 4th Intelligent Transportation Systems Summit organized by ITS Turkey was held in Ankara on May 2-4. ICA was deemed worthy of the 'ITS Turkey Special Award' at the Road of Reason in Transportation Awards given within the scope of the summit.

The International Intelligent Transportation Systems Summit SUMMITS, one of Turkey's most important events in the field of intelligent transportation and organized by the Intelligent Transportation Systems Association (ITS Turkey), was held this year at Ankara Hacettepe University Tunçalp Özgen Congress and Culture Center between May 2-4. With the slogan "Leading the Digital Transformation of Transportation with ITS", SUMMITS'24 brought together the leading names of the sector, offering comprehensive discussions on the future of transportation, and became a platform where technological advances were exhibited.

The summit, which started with the opening speeches of Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure; Fatma Şahin, Mayor of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality; Prof. Dr. Şükrü Karatepe, Deputy Chairman of the Local Government Policies Board of the Presidency; Virve Vimpari, First Undersecretary, Head of the Department of Green Development and Inclusive Growth; and Esma Dilek, Deputy General Director General of Communication, ITS Turkey President, Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, inspired the participants to increase the synergy in the sector and shape the transportation technologies of the future.

Autonomous truck tests brought awards

Supporting the 4th International Intelligent Transportation Systems Summit as the "Logistics Sector Sponsor", ICA won the "ITS Turkey Special Award" within the scope of the "Road of Reason in Transportation Awards" with its project titled "Making Our Country's Highways Ready for the Use of Intelligent Transportation Systems by Level 4 Autonomous Driving Vehicles".

Within the scope of the project, the autonomous truck developed by Ford Otosan performed autonomous vehicle driving tests by utilizing the ITS systems on ICA's closed road. In this way, the first steps were taken to integrate Level 4 autonomous driving technology with the highway infrastructure in Turkey.

The session titled 'Digitalization and Innovation in Mobility and Logistics' was presented by Meriç Ergül, Senior Manager of Network and Intelligent Transportation. In the session, the latest developments in smart transportation and digitalization applications in transportation and the experience gained were shared with the sector representatives.
